Become a Literal Ghost

Have you thought how you would be buried? Anna Marinenko designed ghost urns for the ashes of your loving departed. These are currently in the concept stages but I had to think: if I died, would I want my ashes in a urn like this? They’re cute but more like Halloween decorations than something holding the deceased. If I put someone’s ashes in this, I would be worried a live person would reach into the container for a cookie.

My ideal burial method would be no preservatives in my body in an compostable container with a tree planted on top of my grave in lieu of a gravestone. I have no idea if this is possible – especially the tree part of it. But I think it completes the circle of life, if my corpse feeds a new living thing and contributes to the world even after I’ve passed.

What the….is that a picture frame urn?? And with a ghost face on it?? I get the concept of themed funerals (i.e., Doctor Who funeral with a TARDIS coffin, 49ers funeral with coffin painted in team colors, etc) but having something that the loved ones are going to be looking at for years to come? I’m squicked.

No, the picture frame is separate from the urn. The ghost urn is reflected in the glass.
